This is really nicely written. I liked how you introduced the snow, and then the red liquid pointing the way. Intriguing.

Wow! I feel like I'm entering a whole nother world with this whole blogging thing! I'm so excited! I'm following you now :] By the way, I'm curious about the Oddville Press..I never was able to find the way to contact them about becoming a reader.

Oh! Makes sense! Good luck trying to clean that up! And 93k should be fine since it is fantasy. Its not really an outrageous number ya know?

If you click the link I know the guy mentions Bransford and another agent that don't care about word count.

Normally, my problem is running too short..Go figure?

I getcha. I'm kinda doing the same thing right now with my MG. I'm at 7500 words so far though. I think writing in different places on campus helps me focus more. I realized that when I wrote about 2k at the bookstore.

How long is this new 1st draft? And what genre is it?

Man, I need to start buckling down. I have 3 ongoing manuscripts right now. Ones at 6k, the MG is at 7500 words and another is at 17k and yet I can't seem to finish that one now unless I finish the MG because..its what happens when the MC is younger...ugh so complicated!

58k? Nice how long you been working on it? In all honesty my YA fantasy is only 55k. I just can't seem to up my word count. I suppose I'm just one of those writers that hates descriptions...they bore the crap out of me when I read so I use em' sparingly. Idk how good that is, but short isn't bad.

I'm finally deciding to settle on this one MG and get to about 25 or 30k. REvise and then see how it goes. I would probably be at 30k with my other novel right now if I'd just focused on one.. *sigh* Teach me to stay focused...

Wow! So you started it in your freshman year too!? Sweet :] We have something in common. My novel, Tainted, had me focusing only on it for 2 years.-Plus I wasn't as good of a writer before and it needed MAJOR revisions!

If you want I'll take a look at your query for WT when you finish. Just let me know :] I've been reading soo much about queries and that queryshark blog that I think I know what a good query looks like.
